Overview

Learn how to create a QR code that creates an email. When scanned, this QR code will automatically open the user's default email app with your defined email address and an optional subject line pre-filled.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open the QuiQR Codes app from your Shopify Admin.

2. Click Create QR Code from the dashboard or the Manage QR Codes screen.

3. Enter a Name for your new QR code.

4. Optional: Enter a Description for internal reference.

5. In the Action drop-down menu, select Email.

6. Enter the destination email address into the Email Address field.

7. Optional: Enter a predefined Email subject into the Subject field.

8. Complete the remaining Style settings to customise the look of your QR code, and then click Save.

WARNING

Ensure the field contains a valid, active email address so that customer inquiries reach the correct inbox.

Verification and Next Steps

To test that your QR code is set up correctly, point your smartphone camera at the generated code on your screen. You should see a prompt to open a link. Tapping it should create a new email draft with your target email address and subject line already filled in, ready for the customer to start typing their message.
